Young Peoples' Voices

Working with a range of teenagers, tutors and counsellors in Liverpool we have explored the contemporary Educational experience and discovered that whilst most young people adapt well to secondary school life there are increasing numbers of students who require intervention to support their progress. Key themes which have emerged centre upon the pre requisites of providing positive relationships, self-esteem and emotional intelligence within small scale learning environments.

Alsop High School has established a specialist Intervention Centre to meet the needs of students who face challenges engaging in mainstream school learning processes. AVCT found their model to be an example of effective Professional Practice and will present this as a Case Study.
